Today, on September 12th the first of seven MD87s is taking off from Olbia with destination Africa. AKFED (Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development) had acquired during recent privatization processes the control of two West African airlines, in Air Burkina 76% and in Compagnie Aerienne du Mali 51%. Air Uganda has been set up as a new airline and will commence flight operations on regional routes effective November this year. Meridiana as partner of Rwandair Express will be another operator. Groupe Celestair is the name of the holding of all airlines of the group.
